Delete your account
Last updated
You can delete your NomadCheck account, and everything in it, whenever you like — from inside the app, or by writing to us if you have already uninstalled it. This page covers both, what gets removed, and the one thing you have to do separately. NomadCheck is listed on Google Play and the App Store as Nomad Check.
1. Before you start
- On Android — open Google Play, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Nomad Check → Cancel subscription. Google Play subscriptions
- On iPhone or iPad — open Settings, then your name → Subscriptions → Nomad Check → Cancel subscription. App Store subscriptions
Deleting your account is not conditional on cancelling. You can do it whenever you want, in either order. We would just rather you were not paying for an app you no longer have.
2. Delete from inside the app
The fastest route, and the one to use if you still have Nomad Check on your phone.
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to Profile, the last tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Tell us why you are leaving. One answer is plenty, and the note is optional.
- Read what goes, then type DELETE to confirm.
- Tap Delete my account.
Your account is disabled the moment you confirm. You are signed out on every device, and we email you the date everything is permanently removed.
3. If you have already uninstalled the app
You do not have to reinstall it. Either route works.
- Reinstall and sign in. Your account is still there until you delete it, and the six steps above still apply.
- Write to us. Email support@nomadcheck.app from the address on your account, with "Delete my account" as the subject.
We may ask you to confirm the request from that address — it is the only way we can be sure the account is yours. Once it is confirmed we start the same deletion the app does, and we do it within one month of your request at the latest.
4. What gets deleted
- Your saved cities and shortlists
- Your budget and everything in it
- Your household setup, currency and passport
- Your profile and your sign-in
All of it goes permanently, thirty days after you confirm.
5. What we keep, and for how long
A few records outlive the account, because the law says they have to.
- Billing and subscription records — generally five years, and up to ten for accounting records under Bulgarian law. We never held your card details in the first place.
- Security and compliance records — up to five years, or longer where we need them to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
- Aggregated, anonymised statistics — kept indefinitely. They can no longer be traced back to you, so they are not personal data.
- Backups — deleted data can sit in encrypted backups until those expire on their normal cycle. Nothing reads them in the meantime.
Section 10 of the Privacy Policy sets every retention period out in full, and section 11 covers your rights — including asking us for a copy of your data before you go.
6. Changing your mind
Nothing is destroyed for thirty days. Sign in again inside that window and the app offers to restore your account, with everything exactly where you left it.
After the thirty days it is gone, and we cannot bring it back. Write to support@nomadcheck.app anyway if you are close to the date and something has gone wrong — though by then there may be nothing left to restore.
